‘베지테리언 다이어리’는 채식을 막 시작한 윤정의 이야기이다. 윤정은 다양한 방식으로 채식을 실천하는 사람들을 만나며 자신만의 채식 실천에 혼란을 느낀다.
현실의 기록 사이사이에 배치된 우화 속 ‘사자의 탈을 쓴 인간’은 곧 윤정이자 우리 모두의 모습과 닮아 있다.
영화는 완벽한 채식의 정답을 제시하지 않는다. 대신 실패하더라도, 완벽하지 않을지라도 멈추지 않고 지속해 나가는 태도에 주목한다.

Vegetarian Diary follows Yunjeong, who has just begun practicing vegetarianism. As she meets others who each practice vegetarianism in their own way, she finds herself confused about how to define her own.
Woven between these documentary moments is a fable featuring a "human in a lion's mask" — a figure that resembles Yunjeong, and perhaps all of us. The film offers no definitive answer to what perfect vegetarianism looks like. Instead, it turns its attention to the attitude of continuing on, even through failure, even without perfection.
